Daffodils are among some of my favorite spring flowers. Not only are they deer resistant, they come back each year and can even be divided after the second or third year. Fancy daffodils have always been a show stopper in my gardens because around here, everyone is used to the traditional yellow flowers greeting us in spring. Wow the crowds and add these full, white flowers with an orange/apricot inlay to your landscape.
Daffodils require cold time during the winter months to perform their best in the spring. Plant in the fall when the ground can still be worked and be sure to water. When you see sprouts in the spring, be sure to give plenty of water and watch them bloom! After 2-3 years of them growing in your garden, you can even dig and divide them and plant again!
Plant 6” deep, water and cover with dirt
Full sun or partial shade
At least 4” spacing between bulbs
